In this position, you will utilize your expertise in dental hygiene to perform thorough cleanings, assessments, and patient education while ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) system Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and assess overall patient health status before dental procedures, especially in pediatric dentistry or special cases. Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols, including proper sterilization of instruments and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Document all procedures meticulously, including dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review for accurate billing and records management. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in general dentistry Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology is essential. Experience with medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical records management ensures confidentiality and compliance. Previous exposure to pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus but not required; a compassionate approach is always valued.
