Job Description

Hiring now! At Pediatric Dentistry of Brighton, we are committed to providing excellent dental care in a friendly, comfortable environment. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team! In this role, you'll play a key part in educating patients on oral health and ensuring they receive the best preventative and therapeutic care. This is a full-time position.
Pay:
$43.00 per hour and monthly bonus eligibility.
Role Summary:
The Hygienist administers oral hygiene care to patients. The Hygienist will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. The Hygienist also educates patients on oral hygiene, takes and develops x-rays, and applies fluoride or sealants.
Key Responsibilities:
Use dental instruments to check and clean gums. Feel lymph nodes under patient's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate the presence of oral cancer or other dental diseases. Examine gums for sores or disease using probes and other dental instruments. (ex: gingivitis or other gum diseases) Apply fluoride and other cavity protectors. Take, expose, and develop X-rays. Form and mold cast impressions. Administers local anesthetics, as directed. Apply fluorides or other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments. Remove excess cement from coronal surfaces of teeth. Maintain dental equipment, equipment supply levels and sharpen and sterilize dental instruments. Record and review patient medical histories Maintain, Chart and record conditions of disease for diagnosis and treatment. Maintain patient recall system. Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist Provide patients with proper instruction for treatment of disease. Provide health education to improve and maintain the patient's oral health for all ages.
Experience & Qualifications/Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree Certifications preferred: Registered Dental Hygienist certification. Licensed in
Michigan Experience:
1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience a bonus Supplemental pay types: Bonus pays
