In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics with a focus on pediatric patients preferred. Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and communication skills. Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques and working with children is a plus.
