Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your dedication to precision, patient comfort, and infection control will help create a welcoming environment that fosters trust and long-term relationships. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories to tailor personalized care plans. Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Capture and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Support pediatric dentistry services by providing specialized care for children in a compassionate manner. Collaborate with dentists and other team members in general dentistry procedures, ensuring seamless patient experiences. Experience Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Experience performing chairside assisting during various dental procedures is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and techniques to effectively serve young patients. Ability to accurately assess patient needs through comprehensive evaluations including vital signs and medical history review. Prior experience with documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining detailed medical records ensures compliance and quality care.
