As a vital member of our practice, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive hygiene services, supporting patient education, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel valued and confident in their dental care journey. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures using specialized techniques suitable for children and adolescents. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories. Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures by preparing instruments, managing infection control protocols, and maintaining aseptic techniques. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety standards and radiation protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry and familiarity with dental office operations; experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA compliance regulations. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and workflow. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medical imaging procedures, and documentation review processes is essential.
