Job Description
Registered Dental Hygienist Minneota Family Dental Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate is confident in clinical skills, passionate about patient education, and is driven to learn in a collaborative environment. Duties Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues Provide dental hygiene treatments, including dental prophy, fluoride, and scaling and root planing as needed Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, periodontal health, preventive care, and other treatment recommendations Capture high-quality digital radiographs (bitewings, periapicals, panoramic, and other prescribed images) using proper positioning and exposure techniques; ensure accurate mounting and documentation in the patient record while adhering to ALARA radiation safety standards and infection control protocols Review and update medical records accurately using electronic dental software (experience with Open Dental appreciated but not required) Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation Follow OSHA and infection control protocols Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy regulations Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care Familiarity with Open Dental software for documentation review and record keeping Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach Benefits Paid Vacation + MN Earned Sick and Safe Time Paid Holidays 401k w/employer match Aflac Supplemental Insurance Options (employer contributes toward premiums) Complimentary Dental Care for Employees Discounted Dental Care for Immediate Family Annual Uniform Allowance Paid CE Paid Professional Licensing & Certification Fees Supportive, Team-Oriented Work Environment Join our small, close-knit team to provide outstanding dental care for our established, loyal patient base that values relationships!
