In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and support comprehensive dental treatments. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying fluoride treatments, and providing oral health instructions Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) including medical coding and treatment notes Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, emphasizing the importance of regular dental visits and preventive care Support the dental team by performing general dentistry tasks at times Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is appreciated, but new graduates are welcome Proficiency with EMR systems - this is learnable :) Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology relevant to dental care Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient treatment sessions Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding practices related to dental procedures Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly Join us in creating healthier smiles! Pay:
$1,200.00 - $1,800.00 per week
