In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health, and support overall patient well-being. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for, ensuring they receive comprehensive dental services aligned with best practices. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong oral health. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Review documentation for accuracy, update patient charts, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, including chairside assisting and documentation review. Understanding of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and infection prevention protocols. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
