Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor and record vital signs and medical information to support comprehensive patient care Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout all procedures Use dental terminology precisely when documenting patient interactions and treatment plans Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus but not required Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
