In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where your skills and dedication make a real difference. We are looking for somebody to join us starting with 1-2 days per week. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Perform patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment plans. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical and dental records regularly, and assist with medical coding as needed for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental office software including Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients to ensure gentle, effective care. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures while maintaining high standards of infection control. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment, communication, and education. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review processes for accurate recordkeeping.
