Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical operation. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and ensure patient comfort in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and assess patient health status Assist with chairside procedures including providing support during general dentistry treatments Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating patience and gentle care for young patients Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care Skills Proficiency in dental software Dentrix Ascend Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical coding Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical imaging, and patient evaluation effectively Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored to diverse patient needs Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, documentation review, and medical records management Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate This position offers an opportunity to grow within a professional environment dedicated to excellence in oral healthcare.
