The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical history Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Document treatment procedures accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) using proper dental terminology Support chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines Review medical records for accurate documentation review and medical coding as needed Collaborate with dentists during procedures such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialized treatments Maintain a sterile environment through proper infection control practices and knowledge of anatomy Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is required, with familiarity using Dental Vision, Dentrix Ascend, or other EMR systems preferred Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry techniques, and medical imaging is advantageous Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes Experience with patient care, patient assessment, chairside assisting, and infection control protocols is essential Background in medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of patient care This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate dental team committed to providing outstanding oral health services.
