As a vital member of our dental team, the Dental Hygienist will play a key role in providing exceptional oral healthcare services to our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a gentle chairside manner, and a commitment to promoting optimal dental health.
Patient Education:
Review patient dental history and recommend care to improve patients oral health. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and rinsing. Provide personalized recommendations for oral healthcare products based on individual patient needs. Offer guidance on maintaining good nutrition and its impact on oral health. Explain dental procedures and treatments to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
Preventive Dental Services:
Screening patients during check ups. Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay. Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation as directed by the dentist. Perform dental screenings during check ups for early detection of oral health issues. Develop and implement customized preventive care plans based on patient risk factors.
Dental Records and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes. Document findings from oral examinations and any treatment provided. Follow established protocols for infection control and sterilization of dental instruments.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow and coordinated patient care. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to facilitate treatment planning and delivery.
Requirements:
Invisalign/Clear Aligner knowledge a plus but not required Valid license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program. Must be able to take digital radiographs and open to using the Itero digital scanner. Knowledge of dental hygiene practices, techniques, and current oral healthcare guidelines. Proficiency in performing dental cleanings, periodontal assessments, and preventive treatments. Familiarity with dental software and digital imaging systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to educate and motivate patients towards maintaining good oral health. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Adherence to ethical and professional conduct in accordance with industry regulations.
