Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
