Dental Hygienist

Our Orthodontic practice is looking for an energetic, passionate, and confident Orthodontic Hygienist who can build lasting relationships and make a difference. If you are ready to be part of a great practice and help our patients with their orthodontic needs; come join us! This is a 2-3 day a week position.

Part of the responsibilities include:

Instruct the patient in proper technique of orthodontic oral hygiene, e.g. the use of elastics, face bow and removable appliances and proper tooth brushing technique.

Perform the following functions:

Fit/Cement & remove bands . Prepare & Place brackets for the orthodontist to precisely position. Take impressions for retainers. Remove any portion of an orthodontic appliance causing a patient discomfort in an emergency when the dentist is not on the premises. Place and remove ligature ties for adjustment of arch wires and/or bands. Place and remove arch wires. Photograph and scan patient for intraoral and extraoral diagnosis utilizing appropriate retraction technique and equipment . Other duties deemed necessary ! We will train the right team member, however prior experience is preferred A positive team attitude and ability to multi-task is a must! You will also be trained to help in every possible way when needed... We are a team structured, fun, family style environment. As with any family, when help may be needed, we all pitch in! Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer no less than one (1) year of experience as a hygienist. Completed a dental hygiene program and fully licensed in the state of New York.
