Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment. Utilize dental software such as open Dental or Dentrix for documentation review, record keeping, and scheduling. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health habits. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic technique, sterilization procedures, and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support medical imaging procedures when necessary and monitor patient comfort throughout their visit. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current state certification. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively.
