Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care through thorough dental hygiene services, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of oral health within our practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on comprehensive dental wellness and patient education. Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments with precision and care. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as needed, and ensure all records are complete and compliant with infection control standards. Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status before procedures to ensure safety during treatment. Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, managing aseptic techniques, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive dental care in general dentistry settings, emphasizing patient comfort and safety. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred. Experience working with pediatric patients in pediatric dentistry environments is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate documentation review. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory if combined with relevant hygienist experience. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing clear instructions and compassionate care.
