Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review, and oral health evaluations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive measures. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office protocols. Utilize dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and appointment scheduling. Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental coding for accurate documentation. Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ability to monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications. Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
