In this energized position, you will work closely with dentists and patients to provide thorough cleanings, assessments, and education, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for every individual. Your expertise in dental hygiene procedures combined with your passion for healthcare will help us maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to all safety protocols and infection prevention standards. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing medical records securely. Requirements Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience working in general and specialty dentistry environments. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for charting and documentation management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Hands-on experience with dental equipment operation, radiography (X-ray), and medical imaging techniques. Piezo and GBT Airflow Protocol . Familiarity with lasers is a plus. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection control management.
