Biological dentistry is a holistic approach to dental care that focuses on prevention, use of non-toxic materials, and promotion of whole-body healing. Unlike traditional dentistry which treats teeth and gums separate from the rest of the body, biological dentistry recognizes the mouth-body connection and strives to treat the whole person rather than just the symptoms. This approach follows the philosophy of German biological medicine and the importance in addressing underlying dental barriers by eliminating any toxic burdens and pathologic interferences from the mouth including areas of infection, incompatible biomaterials, and poorly placed dentistry.
