Dental Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications:

Associate degree or bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program Current SC state license and x-ray certification Nitrous Oxide monitoring Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques Excellent communication skills

Job Specific Duties:

Performs clinical examination of teeth and surrounding tissues and records findings and treatment plan in electronic dental record. Removes hard and soft deposits and stains from teeth. Applies fluoride varnish. Applies pit and fissure sealants Provides patient instruction and counseling regarding oral hygiene and proper nutrition and dietary issues. Takes Digital radiographs Consistently performs correct periodontal charting and gives correct recommendations and treatment plans to periodontal patients. Ensures work area is kept safe, clean and well organized with an adequate amount of supplies. Abides by all OSHA, EPA and HIPAA regulations.
