Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with administrative tasks like documentation review, medical coding, and updating patient information in electronic records. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols essential for safe practice. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children (pediatrics) and providing age-appropriate care. Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation management. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management. Ability to perform patient care assessments, vital signs monitoring, and basic medical imaging procedures.
