Our treatment philosophy is to care appropriately and comprehensively for our patients without over-treatment. We treat you the way we would want to be treated! If starting out as a new dental hygienist, we will allow more time per patient to get your bearings and improve your speed without sacrificing quality. Gratefully, Grayson Tucker Hunley, DDS Golden Rule Dental Center 4714 Papermill DriveKnoxville, TN 37909 865-588-4472 office Duties 1 hour appointments, 8 appointments per day for recall visits 1 hour lunch scheduled from 12pm-1pm Usually the dentist sees new patients first for radiographs and comprehensive exams (or limited in the case of full mouth debridement cases) unless patients have received recent dental care in the last 6 months Perform comprehensive prophys, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. Treat periodontal disease with scaling and root planing (dentists usually numb patients but you are welcome to numb if you are proficient and relatively painless) Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, and current dental conditions including comprehensive periodontal charting. Take 4 bitewings once per year or as necessary depending on patient need Take panoramic radiographs every 3-7 years depending on need Ensure proper infection control protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Eaglesoft experience preferred but not 100% required Support the dental team by managing sterilization processes, aseptic techniques, and infection control procedures to uphold safety standards. Ordering certain dental hygiene specific supplies from our vendors and sales reps. Maintain your quick-fill schedule by calling patients to see them if schedule openings (aka opportunities) arise. The front desk helps fill your schedule for the most part, but you'll be expected to assist in filling your schedule. Skills Up to date TN Dental Hygiene license (local anesthesia optional but not required) Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental hygiene CDT insurance coding to ensure precise communication and documentation. Experience with some pediatric dentistry, patients with wheelchairs, and mostly adult dentistry environments to effectively serve diverse patient needs. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, dental records management, and documentation review processes. Excellent personalized patient care skills with the ability to assess individual patient needs compassionately while also maintaining professionalism.
