Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist at Proffitt Dentistry in Maryville! We are a
PRIVATELY
owned, family oriented practice where building relationships with our patients is key. We are growing and ideally looking for the right fit for 2-3 days a week with future opportunity to go to 4 days a week. In this energized role, you will provide thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive treatments while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct oral health assessments by examining patients' teeth, gums, and soft tissues, and record findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain detailed documentation of treatments performed, medical history updates, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments; familiarity with dental office workflows is preferred but not necessary. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix; strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, infection control practices, and aseptic procedures. Ability to perform patient care tasks with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration; understanding of HIPAA compliance is essential. Pay:
$40.00 - $46.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 24.0 per week
