In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Hours are Monday- Thursday 8-5 and optional working last Friday of month from 8-1. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by evaluating oral health status, vital signs, and medical history documentation. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions using clear dental terminology. Manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accurate medical documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment while adhering to all safety protocols related to infection control standards. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments. Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Open Dental for charting and medical records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Nitrous Sedation and Anesthesia certification needed. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Prior experience working with dental reception staff or assisting in dental office operations is a plus. Join our team where your expertise makes a difference!
