Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleaning procedures, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall oral health education. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote lifelong dental health. Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing medical histories and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Take dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Review medical records for accuracy, update documentation, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Support infection control standards by maintaining sterilization procedures and ensuring all dental equipment is properly sanitized. Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, patient assessments, and medical coding for billing purposes. Experience Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
