In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. This is a part time position for 2 or 3 days a week to start. Bonus program. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to maintain long-term oral health. Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort for both the patient and the dentist. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, medical histories, and treatment plans in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Collaborate with the dental team to review documentation, assist with chairside assisting duties, and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic. Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding processes. Hands-on experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and working comfortably with children is a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Previous experience in dental assisting or chairside assisting roles will be considered an asset.
