In this energetic role, you'll provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure a comfortable, safe, and positive experience for every patient while adhering to the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health. Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Review patient medical records and documentation to ensure accurate treatment history and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term dental health. Assist in pediatric dentistry cases by creating a friendly environment for young patients and applying specialized pediatric techniques. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience with medical coding and documentation review to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Ability to perform patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review. Familiarity with general dentistry practices as well as pediatric dentistry specialties. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs. Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for efficient data entry and record keeping.
