In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure each patient receives personalized attention, fostering trust and promoting optimal oral health outcomes. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term health. Take and interpret imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation. Maintain strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold safety standards. Review and update medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Support general dentistry procedures by providing patient care that aligns with dental terminology and best practices. Monitor and record vital signs during appointments to ensure patient safety throughout treatment. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver seamless patient experiences in pediatric dentistry and adult care settings. Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or office environment. Familiarity with dental office software such as Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and procedures is a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting tasks with proficiency in chairside assisting techniques. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and documentation review processes. Excellent communication skills for educating patients effectively while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
