Job Description

Overview Dental hygienist needed to fill in for vacation time 7/27-7/30 and 8/24- 8/25 and possible part time work. Completely digital practice with intra oral cameras, digital radiographs and cbct. Join our dynamic, modern dental practice as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, assess patient needs, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your dedication to patient comfort and health education will help foster a welcoming environment where smiles are transformed every day. Duties Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them with lifelong healthy habits. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Manage medical records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatments to ensure safety; review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review for accurate record keeping. Skilled in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately while maintaining professionalism. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing chairside assisting skills and supporting team collaboration.
