Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with patients to provide preventive dental services, educate on oral hygiene practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident about their dental health journey. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Requirements Valid Virginia state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with knowledge of dental terminology. Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and documentation review. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical imaging procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
