Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess patient health status. Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays while ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, supporting dentists during treatments. Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments and equipment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control protocols, and HIPAA compliance. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred, along with familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to perform detailed assessments and documentation review.
