ADVANCED SEDATION DENTISTRY

Dental Hygienist Virginia Beach, VA • Full-Time At Advanced Sedation Dentistry, we believe hygiene is the foundation of long-term patient health and trust. We are a specialty-focused practice known for comprehensive care, sedation expertise, and an intentionally calm patient experience. Our patients come to us for different reasons — some are returning to dental care after years of avoidance due to fear, or medical complexity; others simply expect a higher standard of care, comfort, and clinical attention than a conventional practice provides. What unites them is what they find here: a calm environment, unhurried appointments, and a team that treats every patient with the same level of care. We are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist for our Virginia Beach office who values thoroughness, clinical excellence, patient connection, and a slower, more intentional approach to dentistry. This is not a high-volume hygiene structure. We prioritize quality of care, strong clinical standards, and meaningful patient relationships.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT

You will work in a collaborative, specialty environment alongside doctors who genuinely value hygiene as part of comprehensive patient care. Because we serve patients across the full spectrum, our hygiene chair is equipped for more than routine cleanings. Our team is trained in behavioral management and anxiety-reduction techniques, and our hygienists have access to nitrous oxide, oral anxiolytic premedication, and a structured patient classification system to match each patient with the right level of support — so patients are met with the right tools, not just reassurance. Our hygiene protocols

Include:

Periodontal therapy Preventive and minimally invasive dentistry Adult fluoride and sealants Laser-assisted hygiene therapy Behavioral management, nitrous, and oral anxiolytic premedication for anxious patients Patient education and long-term maintenance care You will have the support, autonomy, and clinical respect to practice at a high level.

SCHEDULE

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. A consistent four-day work week and a three-day weekend, every week.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, fluoride therapy, and laser-assisted hygiene procedures Administer local anesthesia Complete comprehensive periodontal assessments Educate patients on oral-systemic health and home care Partner closely with doctors on diagnosis and treatment planning Maintain detailed clinical documentation and infection control standards Contribute to a calm, well-coordinated patient experience from greeting through dismissal

QUALIFICATIONS

Active Virginia Dental Hygiene license Local anesthesia certification (required) Laser certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong periodontal knowledge and clinical judgment Excellent communication and patient education skills Calm, polished, compassionate chairside presence Team-oriented mindset with pride in your work and operatory
