Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with patients to perform thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education, ensuring a positive experience that encourages lifelong dental wellness. Your skills in clinical procedures, patient communication, and infection control will help create a welcoming environment focused on excellence and compassion. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment planning. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits, treatment notes, and medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Monitor and record vital signs and medical imaging results as part of comprehensive patient care. Requirements Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and confidentiality. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation review, and medical coding to accurately record patient information.
