Job Description

Overview We are a family practice seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental family. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role is crucial in promoting oral health and educating patients about proper dental hygiene practices. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists and other staff members to deliver high-quality dental services in a friendly and professional environment. This position can be part time or full time. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments for patients. Conduct assessments of patients' oral health, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate medical records using dental software systems, such as Dentrix. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff. Collaborate with the dental team to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and continuing education opportunities. Requirements Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health. Experience in a dental office setting is preferred, but not required. Familiarity Open Dental Software Ability to provide compassionate patient care while effectively communicating with diverse populations. Proficiency in infection control practices within a clinical environment. Skills in assisting during dental procedures are advantageous. Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards.
