In this role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, promote oral health education, and support the overall success of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive top-quality care while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry to ensure efficient workflow Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) system Open Dental Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored for children and adolescents Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver seamless general dentistry services Requirements Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of practice Proven experience working in dental offices or clinics with familiarity in dental terminology and procedures Proficiency with EMR system Open Dental is highly preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment confidently Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus for working with young patients effectively Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about oral health practices Knowledge of medical coding and documentation review processes for accurate recordkeeping Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards Join us in creating healthier smiles!
