Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure optimal patient care and efficient clinic operations. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical coding. Experience in pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a compassionate manner. Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient assessment confidently. Skilled in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting and documentation review. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures, medical terminology, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and foster a positive patient experience.
