In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a welcoming environment that encourages patient trust and satisfaction. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control standards. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment notes, patient responses, and clinical findings in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix. (MUST have dentrix experience) Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs in a compassionate manner. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or perio dentistry setting. Proficiency with dental office management software such as Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation review and record keeping. Prior experience with chairside assisting and medical imaging techniques is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess individual needs effectively.
