Clinical Director Position Purpose:
The dental hygienist is responsible for providing oral health education to patients by assessing dental needs and reviewing past dental history, while tailoring information to the specific needs of the bleeding disorder community. The dental hygienist also assists patients in accessing dental care, particularly those who are in need and do not have a dental provider.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene. Licensed in the State of Wisconsin. Minimum of 5 years of dental hygienist experience required.

Provide exceptional care for our patients while recognizing the value of teamwork. All team members are expected to focus on patients' needs, interact with others in a friendly manner, communicate in a positive and professional way, use time effectively and efficiently, and demonstrate an overall high level of performance. Education of patients and the public on dental health and wellness is a priority.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of oral hygiene care for individuals with bleeding disorders. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines to achieve maximum program effectiveness and patient benefit. Ability to communicate with members of the dental community to help patients access care, particularly those without a current dental provider.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Provide recommendations and follow-up care for patients with bleeding disorders based on oral assessments and past history. Assist patients in accessing dental care when needed. Attend comprehensive care clinics, including pre- and post-staffing sessions. Annual cooperative preventive dental clinic with NWTC. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position in a health care facility open Monday through Friday except for holidays recognized by the Hemophilia Outreach Center. Expected hours for this position are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday, Thursday, and one other day of choice. Some additional hours are possible on an as needed basis depending on schedule of events, operational demand, and/or patient demand.
