Job Description

Young Smiles Pediatric Dentistry Young Smiles is a busy pediatric dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional dental care for children and teens from birth through age 21. We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team. About the Position In this role, you will assist with preventive dental treatments and examinations in a pediatric setting. Responsibilities include cleaning teeth, taking dental radiographs, educating patients and families about oral health, and supporting our clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis by removing deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins. Assist with preventive dental treatments and examinations. Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays). Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and preventive care. Prepare treatment rooms according to established procedures and protocols. Chart conditions of decay and disease and maintain accurate patient records. Conduct oral health assessments, including oral cancer screenings and periodontal evaluations. Apply fluoride treatments and other cavity-prevention agents. Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control standards. Answer patient and staff questions and provide exceptional customer service. Support the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency preparedness protocols. Qualifications Current Dental Hygienist license/certification as required by state regulations. Current CPR certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to providing excellent patient care and creating a positive experience for children and families.
