Job Description

Dental Sterile TechnicianGeneral purpose Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager and the Dentist, the Dental Sterile Technician will serve various duties to assist the clinical and office staff to ensure safety, maintain efficiency and ensure cleanliness. Reports to office manager and dentist. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient, client, and facility information, both while on and off duty Provides assistance to dental department, front and back office, as determined by the dentist based on changing patient flow and clinic needs. Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments properly: must remove all organic and inorganic materials from dental instruments before sterilization process, following standard precautions for decontamination. Sets up for appropriate trays and instruments as according to the days and next day's schedule. Maintain the organization and condition of all instruments and equipment. Replaces and/or repairs any that are broken. Responsible for daily and monthly maintenance of all sterilization equipment, hand pieces, hand piece motors, suction, and traps. Assists with various procedures, which include but are not limited to charting, pouring up of impressions and other chairside duties. Fabrication of mouth guards, temporary crowns, and various dental lab tasks. Stock all operatories and designated sterilization area. Performs all duties and service in full compliance with BFD's service excellence standards. Perform all housekeeping duties of office including but not limited to: bathroom cleanup, vacuuming, dusting, breakroom cleanup etc. Serve as back up to front desk as needed, answer phones and schedule appointments. Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner. Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules and office policies. Must be flexible. Must excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by management. Qualifications Moderate to advanced computer skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work with a variety of customers, patients, healthcare professionals in a professional manner.
