The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. This role involves supporting dentists during various procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in dental technology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing comprehensive dental care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to ensure precise documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting tasks including vital signs measurement, medical history updates, and patient education on oral health. Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and coordinating with the dental receptionist. Maintain thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate accurate record-keeping and billing processes. Implement infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and safety. Utilize advanced dental technology including 3D scanners for prosthodontics or orthodontics cases when applicable. Contribute to a collaborative team environment through effective communication and support for colleagues across all dental specialties. Experience Prior experience working in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is essential. Proficiency with Dentrix is required; experience with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous. Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and medical imaging tools. Experience supporting four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during clinical procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care
