  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Dental Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety and smooth clinic operations. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, supporting general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly valued, along with a solid understanding of medical documentation and HIPAA compliance. The Dental Sterilization Technician will be responsible for sterilizing instruments, managing infection control procedures, and supporting clinical staff with chairside probing when needed Duties Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques and sterilization equipment. Prepare treatment rooms by setting up necessary supplies and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles and adhere to infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA standards. Assist dental staff with chairside procedures including passing instruments and managing patient comfort during treatments. Monitor inventory levels of sterilized supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary. Ensure all dental tools meet safety standards for use in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Assist with X-ray procedures, vital signs collection, and other clinical tasks as needed within scope of practice. Maintain a clean and organized sterilization area following infection control guidelines to prevent cross-contamination. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting roles including chairside assisting is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy related to oral health, and medical imaging techniques such as 3D scanners is beneficial. Experience with dental software systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation is highly desirable. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures specific to dental environments is essential. Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required. Certification or training in X-ray safety or medical coding related to dentistry can enhance candidacy but are not mandatory.
