As a Traveling Oral Surgery Assistant, you will play a vital part in enhancing patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Assist oral surgeons during complex surgical procedures, including extractions and implants, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring patients are comfortable throughout their visit. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images for treatment planning. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to safeguard patient health. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document medical histories, treatment notes, and procedural details accurately. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency and deliver seamless patient care across multiple locations. Skills OS experience, BLS, ACLS. PALS and OMSA certificate. DAAnCE certificate is a great plus. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oral surgery and general dentistry. Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and taking X-rays. Ability to operate advanced dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate patient care effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and compliance with privacy laws.
