Dental Assistant/Sterilization Tech

Duties:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic
• Assist with dental laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
• Perform basic dental procedures, such as applying fluoride treatments and sealants
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
• Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
• Help with front desk as needed
• Be a team player

Requirements:

• MUST speak English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent work experience
• Current certification in dental radiography (X-ray certification)
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is preferred
• Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with CAD software for digital impressions
• Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
