Dental Sterilization Technician

Responsibilities Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment using approved methods and sterilization machines. Manage inventory of sterilized supplies, ensuring all items are correctly labeled, stored, and readily available for clinical use. Follow strict aseptic techniques during instrument processing to prevent cross-contamination. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory levels in compliance with health regulations. Assist dental team members by preparing sterile instruments for procedures and ensuring all supplies meet safety standards. Monitor the functionality of sterilization equipment regularly and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Stay updated on current infection control guidelines and participate in ongoing training to uphold best practices in sterile processing. Qualifications Knowledge of sterile processing procedures and infection control protocols within a healthcare setting. Familiarity with inventory management systems for tracking supplies and sterilized instruments. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures. Basic knowledge of human physiology and anatomy as it relates to oral health. Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during instrument handling. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Prior experience in a dental or medical sterilization role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
