Starting at $20.00 per hour Job Summary Our dental laboratory in Westland, Michigan is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Removable Dental Laboratory Technician to join our team. This position offers a flexible schedule of 2 to 3 weekdays per week, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours depending on lab volume and your availability. It is perfect for a technician looking for stable, part-time hours with weekends off. In this role, you will focus strictly on fabricating, processing, and repairing high-quality removable prosthetics. The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of dental anatomy, a sharp eye for aesthetic detail, and the ability to consistently deliver comfortable, functional appliances that match clinician prescriptions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Prosthetic Fabrication:

Pour master models, articulate cases, set denture teeth, and perform precise wax-ups for full and partial dentures.

Processing & Finishing:

Handle the investing, packing, curing, deflasking, finishing, and high-shine polishing of acrylic bases.

Repairs & Relines:

Execute efficient and durable denture repairs, re-basing workflows, and laboratory relines.

Appliance Fabrication:

Fabricate custom impression trays, bite rims, nightguards, and bend precise wire clasps.

Quality Assurance:

Thoroughly inspect completed cases against doctor prescriptions to guarantee exact fit, bite alignment, and shade matching before delivery.

Lab Safety & Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized workstation, disinfect incoming clinical cases, and safely operate and maintain laboratory machinery.

Requirements & Qualifications Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience specializing in removable dental prosthetics.

Technical Skills:

Good understanding of dental materials, acrylic processing techniques, and removable partial denture (RPD) design.

Digital Skills:

Experience with dental CAD/CAM software (e.g., 3Shape, exocad) is preferred but not required.

Attributes:

Excellent manual dexterity, sharp visual acuity, strong time-management skills, and the ability to work independently in a production-driven environment.

Certification:

Certified Dental Technician (CDT) status is a plus but not mandatory.
