Job Description

This position is a great way to start a career in Dentistry. No dental experience required. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety within our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Sterilization Technician will be responsible for maintaining sterilization protocols and supporting the clinical team in delivering exceptional patient care. This is a great position to get your foot in the Door for Dentistry. On the job training will be provided. Duties Perform sterilization of dental instruments and equipment following established protocols to ensure compliance with infection control standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterilization areas, ensuring all tools and supplies are readily available for clinical staff. Assist with chairside procedures, providing support to dentists during treatments while adhering to aseptic techniques. Document sterilization processes accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations and maintain medical records as required. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, ensuring they function properly at all times. Collaborate with dental assistants and receptionists to facilitate smooth patient flow and ensure all necessary materials are prepared for appointments. Stay updated on current infection control practices, dental terminology, and advancements in sterilization technology. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being a plus. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures, is beneficial. Understanding of medical documentation, coding, and record-keeping practices is essential. Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs monitoring is advantageous. Familiarity with various dental specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry will enhance your application. A solid understanding of anatomy knowledge and infection control principles is required for this role.
