Overview Join our dynamic privately owned dental practice as an X-ray Technician, where your expertise in medical imaging and diagnostic radiology will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in X-ray technology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge within a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will be responsible for capturing high-quality diagnostic images, assisting with patient evaluations, and ensuring adherence to safety and aseptic techniques. Duties Prepare patients for X-ray procedures by explaining processes and positioning them accurately to obtain optimal images. Operate digital X-ray equipment to produce clear diagnostic images of teeth, jawbones, or other facial structures. Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment during imaging procedures. Review images for quality and clarity, making adjustments as needed or retaking images to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist dental practitioners with diagnostic evaluations by providing high-quality radiographs that support treatment planning. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology such as PET scans, CT scans, mammography, DEXA scans, sonography, and physiology knowledge to enhance diagnostic capabilities. Skills Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and understanding of diagnostic radiology principles. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to dental and craniofacial structures. Experience with advanced imaging modalities including PET scans, CT scans, mammography, DEXA scans, ultrasound (sonography), and nuclear medicine procedures. Familiarity with emergency room experience or Level I/II trauma center protocols is a plus for handling urgent cases effectively. Ability to apply aseptic techniques diligently while maintaining patient safety and comfort during procedures. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and collaborate effectively with dental team members. Knowledge of emergency medicine practices and the ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations when necessary.
