In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with established protocols. Your expertise in sterile processing and understanding of dental terminology will be crucial in maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care. Duties Perform sterilization of surgical instruments and dental equipment using appropriate techniques and equipment. Conduct regular inventory management to ensure adequate supplies of sterile items are available. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including monitoring sterilizer parameters and outcomes. Apply aseptic techniques during the handling of sterile items to prevent contamination. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand specific sterilization needs based on procedures and equipment used. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as institutional policies regarding sterile processing. Stay updated on best practices in sterilization methods and participate in ongoing training as required. Qualifications Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and dental terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare environment. Experience or training in sterile processing techniques is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Certification in Sterile Processing or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
